Something Else We Did In Michigan ~ Plus Homestead Updates

Melanie and I made it back safely to the homestead. But while in Michigan there was something else big that we did.

We never had a wedding reception with family in Michigan since our main church wedding was in NY. So this time around there was a family reunion planned and we combined it to make our wedding reception for all the family members to attend.

Melanie really loves my family and they love her very much. She has been fully accepted by everyone in my family.

Every time we go to Michigan Melanie gets a lot of gifts and clothing so we ended up loading the truck pretty well time time around.

We got the solar panels home intact along with all our gear. One family member also gave us four boxes of canning jars which we will be using this year for preserving our own foods.

It did not rain much while we were gone but the garden somehow grew out of control. This morning though it rained very hard and it topped off our main tank plus half filled our backup rain water collection tank.

We now have two 275 gallon IBC tanks for rain water collection. This provides our water to the off grid tiny house on wheels.
