Closing Off Another Loft Bedroom Wall In My Tiny Home

I spent the day working in my tiny house loft. This is my bedroom loft. It took the entire day to put up the radiant foil and OSB to cover one wall because I am working entirely with recycled materials. It takes a lot of time to prepare the recycled materials but the price is right - free.

I first had to finish putting up the rest of the furring strips so that I can put on the radiant foil. I have a 3/4 inch gap behind the radiant foil which will allow it to block heat entering in the summer.

Then I have a 3/4 inch air gap in front of the radiant foil to block winter heat from leaving the tiny house on wheels.

When I had half of the wall done with the radiant foil I put on more furring strips and tried out a piece of OSB for looks.

It is closing up the wall nicely at least. I am using the OSB which I got for free from the small engine shop. This wood was used to build a shipping crate for one time use and then tossed out. It is a great source of building materials for me.

Framing the furring strips around the tiny home loft window took a bit more time but it sure looks good to have the wall closed in. My walls are not about 7.5 inches thick from outside to inside. This gives me a very good R insulation value.

The next project is to get running water in my tiny home and get some shelving in the bedroom loft so I can put away books and clothes.
