Off Grid Homestead Spring Cleaning & Truck Maintenance

I had Chris helping me on the truck while I worked on spring cleaning at the off grid homestead. I got out the VIAIR portable air compressor to help with the truck project.

This is quite an amazing and powerful air compressor. This is a portable air compressor that I am reviewing. Today was a good chance to pull it out and see what it can do.

Chris was doing a tuneup on the old truck for me. He replaced the plugs, wires, air filter, distributor cap and rotor for me. Later he will replace the fuel filter and work on the brakes a bit for me.

When he pulled off the distributor cap he found a mess of dirt and filth. So I pulled out the VIAIR air compressor to see if it could blow off the dirt.

I was quite surprised to find out that it is not only a tire inflator but it has enough pressure to blow dirt and debris as well. You have to run it intermittent in order to use it as a blower but it sure does have some powerful pressure. It has a small air tank to hold a bit of pressure so that it can cycle on and off.

Both Chris and I were impressed with its power. As a portable tire inflator and general air compressor for on the go this is amazing.

I will be doing a full review on the product later on.

I was cleaning up the yard at the off grid homestead while Joy, my new Beagle dog, helped Chris.

I had about 40 styrofoam blocks that I want to use to build a food cellar. I hope to dig a few feet into the earth and then use a 2x4 frame and stuff it with these blocks. This will keep my food cool in summer and keep it from freezing in winter.

I also straightened up a bit around the homestead during the day.
