Green Homestead Garden After 3 Warm Days & DC Generator Repair

Just three days ago I had snow all over the place. After three days of warmth my garden is going wild again with weeds. Well, mostly wild edibles but anyway it is taking over quickly.

I am walking through my garden during a break in the rain and planning the future changes to my garden. I am going to use wood pallets for raised path ways in between the rows. I will cut them into 4 pieces and use them. A pallet is 4 feet wide so this would give me 2 foot squares for my walk ways.

I will use the tree mulch that the tree service dropped off in the fall. The mulch will go on the raised beds in between the path ways. I will probably cover everything in cardboard first to keep out the wild growth before using the mulch.

I am also going to mulch up a mess of leaves left over from the fall and mix that in with natural forest floor earth. This is rich and fertile soil from the forest floor. I think with some mulch, leaves and organic compost it would make some very fine growing beds.

My DC generator went out on me the other day. It tried to self destruct on me. The pulley blew off and the entire generator fell sideways off the pallet it rests on.

The set screw on the pulley flew off somewhere and then the pulley worked itself loose and started to become torn apart by the key in the shaft.

This made a horrendous noise which I thought was the engine itself blowing apart on me.

When I righted the DC generator it got quiet again but I immediately shut it off because the pulley was freely spinning on the shaft.

After a trip to TSC for some parts I got the DC generator going again.

It has been cloudy for days so I need the generator to power my off grid tiny house on wheels.

If I did not work online making videos each day I would not need a generator though so do not get discouraged if you are reading this and considering going off the grid.

My friend Bryan from YT sent me a really awesome wall hanging with a gold background. It is a World map and he says it is quite old. It is perfectly preserved and looks like the day it was made. It sure was packed well though. Thank you Bryan.
