Installing Electric Fence Around Chicken Tractor To Stop Predators

I extended the electric fence to surround the chicken tractor and stop the raccoons from attacking my chickens. They were actually ripping chickens to pieces through the fine wire mesh of the chicken tractor.

The chickens are not learning and they prefer to sleep right up against the wire. That makes them easy pickings for a raccoon.

I simply raided my old meadow electric fence to put some of the stakes around the chicken tractor.

Then I ran some electric fence wire around the stakes and tied it right into the garden fence wire.

This completes the circuit. Next I got out the electric fence tester and tested the fence. I had a good reading.

Actually later I accidentally touched both the chicken wire and the fence wire at the same time and got a healthy (not) zap along with a loud audible snap on my arm.

Yup, it works.
