Happy Homestead Chickens And Building Tiny House Closet

Talking about my happy homestead chickens and working on the tiny house closet using reclaimed lumber from a free pallet wood haul.

My chickens have three chicken coops but they are still using the old chicken tractor. This is actually a good thing because they are all cramped up inside the smaller shelter and share their body heat with one another.

I had originally planned to separate the chickens by breed when they became adults but now I will leave them together until spring when it is warmer.

In the spring I will separate them for breeding purposes. Some I will raise for meat and some for sale.

But for now they are warm in that chicken tractor. Remember that last winter was horrible. They said it was the worst winter in 20 years and the birds survived nicely in there and they were even laying eggs all winter.

I do plan to expand the chicken tractor a bit though to give them some more shelter from the wind but other than that I think they are fine. They are laying eggs daily so they must be happy.

I worked on the tiny house closet under the stairs a bit more until I got called away from the tiny house.

I am using all recycled pallet wood to build my closet. The framing and OSB shelves are all from recycled pallets.

It feels good to be building a tiny house on wheels using mostly all reclaimed lumber.
