Final Install Of The Airhead Composting Toilet In My Off Grid Tiny Home

I did the final installation of the Airhead composting toilet in my tiny house on wheels. Now I have a fully functional composting toilet in my off grid house.

This composting toilet is odor free due to a tiny little fan that pulls fresh air over the holding tank 24/7. The fan is so efficient that it only draws 0.06 Amps of power. I can leave this running day and night on my solar powered batteries with no guilt.

I first had to remove the composting toilet from the floor by loosening the thumb screws and lifting the toilet out of the brackets. I set the toilet aside for now.

Next I drilled a hole in the wall of my tiny home to allow the air vent to blow outside. I used a hole saw on a cordless drill for this task.

Then I fastened the attachment containing the fan to the wall with the screws that were provided with my composting toilet.

The next step was to get power running to the fan. I went upstairs into the loft and tapped into my 12 volt DC power lines and ran a wire down into the bathroom of my tiny house.

I connected the wires to the fan to test it and make sure I was blowing air out of the tiny home and not in.

For now I taped off the wires. I will solder them properly later and use heat shrink tubing to protect them from shorts.

The next step was to measure how much hose I need between the Airhead composting toilet and the fan outlet on the wall. I cut the hose with a knife and then connected the air hose between the toilet and the wall outlet.

My new Airhead composting toilet is fully functional and ready to go (literally).
