Finishing My Tiny House Loft And A Rustic Beam

Monday was a busy day finishing up my tiny home loft and putting in a rustic cottage style beam to tie it all in and add strength to the walls and lofts.

I started the day out with my new off grid coffee table and a cup of coffee. I explained and hopefully cleared up all the questions people have been asking about my tiny home and the construction techniques.

I put the 10 inch wide headers on the loft edges to help strengthen them up some. Then I made a double 2x4 beam that spans the width of the tiny house on wheels. This beam ties in the two long walls dead center and also supports the loft in the middle of the walk way.

I will cover the beam in pallet wood to give it a rustic look and feel. The entire tiny home will be paneled with wood and look rustic. I plan to use antique decor inside as well.

Finishing up the loft and strengthening it took half the day. It was more work that I had thought, especially working alone. Clamps help nicely for holding things together as I work though.

When I finished the lofts, they were a lot stronger and not as shaky as before. I think they will really stiffen up when I get the final flooring on it.
