Making Furring Strips Out Of Scrap Lumber For My Tiny House Build

Friday morning I got another craigslist haul and in the afternoon John and I made some furring strips for my tiny house construction.

I found two generators online and drove out to get them. One runs but very rough. I later found out that it is the float and am getting it replaced. It is worth a bit of money to have a working generator around here. It is a Homelite 4,000 Watt generator with a good old Briggs & Stratton 8 HP engine.

The other generator is a Sears Craftsman 3500 Watt generator which needs a carb cleaning I think.

Later John came over and we cleaned up his carburetor and got his generator running. We used that to power my free Sears Craftsman table saw to cut some furring strips for my tiny house construction.

I am cutting the old lumber I got from the lumber yard to cut into strips. The strips are being used in the tiny home under the radiant barrier to keep it spaced away from the insulation and the paneling. This allows it to function properly.

After cutting a couple boards, I realized that the saw blade is very dull and drove out to get a new one.

The new blade cut the boards like butter and made the job go fast.
