Fake News-Smith-Mundt Modernization Act of 2012 making domestic propaganda legal.

The Smith- Mundt Act mandates the media to report honestly but Obama first creates the Smith-Mundt Modernization Act of 2012 allowing the media to create the narrative and much biased "fake" news officially. Then later, nullifies the Smith-Mundt Act of 1948 which prohibits the government from creating any domestic propaganda.This prohibition was lifted in 2012, when the Smith-Mundt Modernization Act was signed into law by President Obama, allowing the same propaganda disseminated by our government to foreign publics, to now be released in the U.S. for the very first time. Amends the Foreign Relations Authorization Act, Fiscal Years 1986 and 1987 to prohibit funds for the Department of State or the Board from being used to influence public opinion or propagandizing in the United States. (Under current law such provision applies to the United States Information Agency [USIA].)The SMA established that via the Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG), Voice of America (VOA), and Radio Free Europe (RFE), the U.S. State Department and Office of Public Affairs were authorized to disseminate propaganda to foreign publics, but were strictly prohibited from releasing that same propaganda in America for public consumption. Put simply, our government was permitted to lie to people in other countries, but not to us here at home.This prohibition was lifted in 2012, when the SMMA was signed into law by President Obama, allowing the same propaganda disseminated by our government to foreign publics, to now be released in the U.S. for the very first time.And yes, our government is also now allowed to create propaganda tailored specifically for U.S. public consumption, using any media as it sees fit, while remaining anonymous as the source of the material being reported.

It was actually passed into law as HR 5736 of the 112th Congress of 2011-2012 as part of the NDAA. It was a so-called, 'modification' of the Smith-Mundt Anti-Propaganda Act of 1948. The original Act was designed to PREVENT the U.S. government and any agencies, (et al), from colluding with the news media and disseminating 'false propaganda' and abject lies to the American people as some countries did to their citizens during WW2. What HR 5736 ACTUALLY did was to rescind the Act of 1948, now permitting the media to present abject lies and false propaganda to 'foreign audiences' AND the American people. This is how they can now LEGALLY present totally fabricated events, as if they were real live events, rather than what they are: totally fabricated propaganda.
