How YOU Can Spot PDA In Children (Top 3 Traits)

This is how you can spot PDA in children spotting these 3 traits!

There are many things that autistic children display as traits, and some of these are co occurring conditions such as PDA or Pathological Demand Avoidance.

PDA in children is very common in autistic children and can be identified through some distractive traits.

In this post I have outlined 3 traits of PDA in children so you can identify if you child has PDA and move to a deeper understanding of your child.

1. Resist and avoid the ordinary demands of life.
Asking small demands of your child to pick up their toys, or move seat can be distressing and upsetting for your child.

2. Have excessive mood swings and impulsivity.
Impulsive actions like screaming, or hitting or throwing toys even if they are in what seems to be a good mood. Along with instant mood changes.

3. Be comfortable with role play and sometimes pretend to an extent that feels extreme.
Overplaying the role play mode, where they really take on a character to become and run with it for longer than you normally would see a child do.
