Race to Win! Part 9 of "Going for the Gold"

"If you aren't first, you're last." In our, "everybody gets a participation trophy" society, this sounds harsh, but ask any serious athlete and they will tell you they aren't training hard, sacrificing, agonizing sometimes to get a participation trophy! They are singularly focused on winning first prize. That's why there is a first prize! It's for the best of the best! Paul and Scripture would agree with this. In our Christian race, we aren't called to hang in the middle pack with the big pack of average athletes, and we certainly aren't called to be at the back of the back dawdling, taking in the view, and stopping to rest! For those God has called, He has called to run the race He has set before us and to win it!
