The Judgements of the LORD - Session 3

…The judgments of the Lord are true; they are righteous altogether. ~ Psalm 19:9b

* In its simple form, judgment in both the Old and New Testament, is a verdict or decision or it is one who makes or applies those decisions / verdicts / judgments.
* Jesus Identified Judgment as Light Coming Into the World: Judgment = “Light Has Come!” and He has come for a reason!
* Jesus Reveals the Real Target of Judgment: Judgment = Ruler of This World Cast Down

Must we not change how we hear… “judgment?”:

1. Every person’s crisis of Judgment [krisis] is simply being confronted with the Light that is Jesus’ life…when He came & now as He lives and reigns.
2. The power behind our love for darkness (shame & fear of the exposure of our evil deeds) is already cast down. That ruling, accusing spirit was the first to feel the power of Judgment that is Jesus. Let’s welcome the light!
3. Jesus is single-minded about His purpose: He is saving the cosmos and us in it. His judgment is part of that saving process. Light confronts darkness as it flows from His life, His words, and His current, victorious reign.

Judgment is: Our God and Father, revealed in Jesus, Who’s life is the Light enlightening the heart of every man, manifest in our darkness to bring about all God intends for us and every man.
