Can man who is born unrighteous make himself righteous by following a set of laws & rules? God’s righteousness (+R) is the standard by which He evaluates the worthiness of all creatures to be acceptable to live with Him forever. The only way for a man born unrighteous to become righteous before God is for Him to impute (credit or deposit to one’s account) the righteousness of Christ to those who believe in Him. Therefore, justification is an official judicial act which occurs every time anyone believes in Christ.
