Richard Ramirez, dubbed the Night Stalker, was an American serial killer whose crime spree took place in California between June 1984 and August 1985. Gil Carrillo was the homicide detective along with detective Frank Salerno that brought him to justice.

Richard Ramirez died of complications secondary to B-cell lymphoma at Marin General Hospital in Greenbrae, California, on June 7, 2013.
