Commentary on the fate of the soul. What happens in the afterlife?

What happens to our soul after we pass from the Earth?
Most Christians only believe in heaven and hell but the scriptures teach us that God is able to destroy the soul. Scriptures also teach that we may face punishments after we leave the Earth depending on whether we knew what we were doing was wrong or whether we acted in ignorance.
If you do not believe these teachings from scripture, it is likely that you have been indoctrinated by false teachings. These false teaching have mostly been propagated either by tradition or by those with ulterior motives.
