Congress introduced legislation to stop the U.S. from launching a digital dollar. It’s something we’ve been warning about for two years on this show. In March 2022, President Biden signed an executive order requiring the Federal Reserve to research, experiment, and evaluate the risks and benefits of a digital dollar. New legislation by Congressman Tom Emmer would stop this because Emmer says that it would introduce an “authoritarian-style” and “surveillance-style” digital dollar through executive orders.
