Relax & meditate - 4 simple box breathing exercises - 20 second Relaxation - de-stress -self-healing
Breathing exercises form an integral part of practices such as meditation, yoga, martial arts, relaxation and de-stressing exercises. These breathing exercises can also be used at any time of the day or help unwind at work, or school or study, or at home prior to bedtime.
Box breathing exercises can be performed in a sitting position with your feet flat on the floor. Sit in an upright position, slowly inhaling and exhaling, with a slight pause between each inhalation and exhalation.
In our video we suggest 4 seconds for each breathing and resting section however this can vary depending on what feels right and comfortable for you.
Slowly inhale through your nose to a count of approximately 4 seconds, allowing your lungs to fill with air. Hold your breath for approximately 4 seconds. Then exhale through your mouth or nose for approximately 4 seconds. Then hold your breath one more time for 4 seconds before repeating the inhalation and exhalation process as many times as you require.
