Winter sowing method in milk jugs

I starting a few vegetables in milk jugs. This is called the winter sowing method. After putting holes on the bottom and side about an inch high. I put a handful of the sifted wood piece in the bottom of the jug, then I covered it with potting mix breaking up the chunks as best as I could. The seeds that I started today were Swiss Chard, leaf lettuce, blue dwarf curly kale, snow ball x cauliflower from the dollar store, and snowball cauliflower “organic” from Lowes. After sowing the seeds I moved them into a spot that gets good sun. I check them every 2-4 days to see if the seeds have germinated, or if the milk jugs need water. I will do an update soon I sowed these seeds on February 24th.
