When everything got started for these two professionally speaking, they were already living together as a result of the worldwide lockdown in early 2020. This forced close-proximity ensured that they had the time on their hands necessary to pump out a whole bunch of music. Looking back on it now, both brothers consider that period to be a difficult time in their lives, but they managed to make the best out of it and totally re-invent the path their careers would take. Their first song they ever wrote together was called “On the Weekend” and shortly thereafter, official releases popped-up on SoundCloud with titles like “Applesauce”, “2Ugly”, as well as “Mikey and the Frogs”. But it was their fourth song titled “Shut Up My Mom’s Calling” that really put them on the map when it wracked-up nearly 10 Million listens on SoundCloud after being featured in more than 66,000 TikToks in a very short period of time. Following that surprising turn of events, Hotel Ugly suddenly had the platform they needed to take over the indie scene, starting in their hometown of Houston.
