Andy Dісk’s downfall began in December of 1997. That’s when two events took place in such close proximity that they would alter the course of his life forever. With “NewsRadio” being in the midst of its fourth-season, Andy’s sobriety was already a thing of the past as he reveled in the trappings of fame. And honestly, Chris Farley was doing much the same thing. Then, on December 18th, 1997, Andy’s good friend would die of a cocaine and morphine overdose in his Chicago apartment, sending the entire comedy world into shock. Shortly after Farley’s death, Andy attended a Christmas party at the house of his friend and “NewsRadio” co-star, Phil Hartman. Phil’s wife, Brynn, was a recovering drug addict who was nearly a decade sober – but by the end of the night, that would no longer be the case. According to actor and comedian Jon Lovitz, Brynn relapsed that night with cocaine supplied to her by Andy Dick. From that point forward, she continued to fall off the wagon and five months later, Brynn murdered Phil while high on cocaine before taking her own life as well.
