During his childhood, Andrew who would go on to attend New York City public schools like Lillie Deveraux Blake Primary School as well as Robert F. Wagner Middle School in the Upper East Side and Baruch College Campus High School in Kips Bay. After graduation, Andrew headed West to attend the University of California Santa Barbara from which he would earn his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. What did he go on to do with that degree? The same thing most psychology students wind up doing – working in the service industry. Even though by this point, Andrew was already a young-adult, he had no real professional interest in what would eventually come to define his life, comedy. Instead, he was working as a manager at restaurant in California where, one night, a producer asked him if he wanted to go on stage and vamp for a few minutes. He told Medium.com: “I didn’t want to perform comedy. I always loved humor. Loved making people laugh. I was a big stand up fan, but it wasn’t until I was managing a restaurant that had a comedy night and one of the producers asked me to go on stage that I wanted to do it.”
