Megan the Stallion’s career would never even be phased by all the drama surrounding this incident, Tory was another story altogether. Soon enough, headlines began hitting the web stating things like: “TORY LANEZ STREAMS HAVE FALLEN BY 40%!!” Now, that turned out to be an exaggeration and the actual number it had fallen by was more like 8%. Either way, looking to do something about his declining numbers, Tory would hit the studio and spend the next few weeks recording his response to everything that had happened -- a studio album that he named after himself titled “Daystar” and then self-released in September of 2020 after his contractually obligated partnership with Interscope ended earlier that year. On the track “Money Over Fallouts”, Tory would hint towards his side of the story, suggesting that Megan’s people were framing him for the attack, while also questioning the legitimacy of her injuries and inferring that it was actually Megan’s management team that tried to pay him off.
