In October of 2020, Tory was officially charged with felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, personal use of a firearm, and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. He also faces the allegation of inflicting great bodily injury on another person with a gun, all of which could result in up to 22 years in prison if he’s eventually found guilty. Lanez was originally going to be arraigned on October 13th, but that was then pushed to November after his lawyer requested a continuance. At that point, Tory pleaded “not guilty” and a protective order was issued against him that prevented him from coming within 100 yards of Megan and restricting him from ever contacting her. That right there cuts him off from all red carpets and plenty of festivals. A little over a year later in April of 2022, Tory would be taken into custody yet again after violating that restraining order by directly addressing Megan on social media. His attorney would then reveal that the DA’s office asked for Tory’s bail to be set at $5 Million or revoked entirely. Instead, Tory was released after paying $350,000 in bail. At that point, the trial was set to continue in September of this year but has since been pushed back yet again -- this time to December-- after another case that Tory’s defense attorney was working on began to conflict with this one’s scheduled court dates.
