Hey guys, today, we are going to talk about ancient lingam, ancient labyrinth and clear evidence of ancient technology. Look at this picture, an ancient lingam is set up , and nearby you can see this weird labyrinth like structure right? What is the meaning of this pattern? If you watch till the end of the video, I will not only tell you the meaning, I will show the scientific reason why this "labyrinth" was designed near the lingam. For those of you who don't know, a labyrinth is just complicated network of passages which can confuse you if you walk through them. In certain theme parks there are huge labyrinths set up, so it will be a challenge to get through . It is also called a maze and it is becoming popular with video games. In India, there are certain temples and even prehistoric sites which show these labyrinths. The most clear carving is this one, in Hoysaleswara temple, which is known for its extraordinary rock machining technology.
In this temple, a strange labyrinth is carved. What is the meaning of this? This is actually a military formation known as Padmavyuha or Chakravyuha designed by ancient Hindus. What you are looking is the aerial view, or the top view of how this military formation would look like. You can see there are soldiers on horses in certain areas, there are archers with bow and arrow and foot soldiers as well. Of course this is just a simple design to give you a rough idea of the Padmavyuha, ok? Because the actual military formation described in the ancient text of Mahabharata, was massive, it stretched for 48 square miles. This was a massive world war type event, it happened 5000 years ago. Obviously you cannot show all the details in this one carving. You cannot even put all the details if you carved all over the entire temple. But imagine you are a soldier who wants to go to the center of this, It would be very confusing, because it is not a straight route, you would think you go into the center, but it will just throw you right back to the circumference, and then you have to again get closer and closer and if you do get lucky and reach the center, it is very very hard to come back out, alive.
And you may ask: did Mahabharata war really happen 5000 years ago? This temple, Hoysaleswara temple is just dated to 800-900 years back. So shouldn't I show something more ancient, something that's 5000 years old? This was found in the state of Goa, look at this. This is a huge rock art. Archeologists agree that this could be as old as 4500 years ago. They now say this was created in 2500 B.C and it could be the oldest labyrinth carving, not just in India but in the entire world. But what's crazy is that historians and archeologists are not connecting this with the Padmavyuha, they are not even considering the battle formation. But I think this remarkable evidence proves that ancient people drew the Padmavyuha after the Mahabharata war, ok. Experts should at least consider this as a possibility.
Al-Biruni, a famous historian who lived about a thousand years ago - He was from Iran, but he is considered the founder of Indology, because of his deep analysis on Hinduism. In his book, he mentions that King Ravana's City was designed like a labyrinth. This is very intriguing because I showed you how Sigiriya, in Sri Lanka, which is said to be Ravana's city. And it is designed with various obstacles, in various stages, making it difficult to reach the center.
If you go searching in Hindu temples, especially in deep dark areas, you may find carvings of some type of Labyrinth. This one found in one of the pillars of a Hindu temple. It is square labyrinth, ok, this is also very ancient, and it is not easy to reach the center with this one.
