The Galaxy

A galaxy is a gravitationally bound system of stars, gas, dust, and dark matter. The Milky Way is our home galaxy, estimated to contain between 100 and 400 billion stars. Galaxies come in different shapes and sizes and are studied to understand the structure and evolution of the universe.
