Mortice and Tenon Joint - Part 4: Oak Casement Window

In this Episode of the Casement window series we are cutting the Mortice and Tenons into the Frame timbers. I have found cutting the tenon first makes the whole process a lot easier and pain free.

I am cutting the Tenons on the circular saw here but as mentioned they can be cut in a bandsaw, tenoner by hand or any method available to achieve the same result. Cutting the tenon first allows you to get a really accurate tenon thickness without having to worry about tenon position as this can be set on the morticer later.

this joint is a stub Mortice and Tenon, a through mortice could be used as well.
