On March 6, 2023, I Ptl. Mealer was conducting a normal patrol through the north end of town when I noticed a black male walking in a dark hoodie coming from a high crime area. I stopped the individual to check out with him and see what he was doing, upon making initial contact with the individual I could smell the odor of marijuana. I asked the individual if he had any I.D. which he provided, as I ran him through dispatch, he notified me he had warrants out of multiple places. I asked him if he had anything on him, at which time he told me he had some marijuana. Upon conducting a search of him I located two bags of marijuana, one larger bag and one smaller bag. At this time dispatch confirmed that Mr. Jakeylon Wyatt had multiple warrants and that a neighboring agency was in range to pick him up. I notified Mr. Wyatt at this time he was going to be detained because, England P.D. may pick up on his warrant, Mr. Wyatt then attempted to flee on foot. Mr. Wyatt was caught after a short chase and placed under arrest for fleeing, Mr. Wyatt was transported to the Stuttgart Police Department at this time he bonded out on his fleeing charge. Mr. Wyatt and myself (Ptl. Mealer) went outside of the Stuttgart Police Department and destroyed the marijuana that was found on his persons.
