Rick Racela started his career at a weekly newspaper. In addition to his day job as an audience development manager turned product manager, at night he listened to the police scanner and covered the breaking news beat in his hometown in New Jersey, using the tools he was developing while helping to shift how news was consumed digitally on the web before mobile phones and social media (2006-2009).
