Stevens Canyon Land Slide, Tectonic Block?, Part 1

A return visit to the landslide area along the old section of Stevens Canyon Road.

The week before, I ventured into the depression between the canyon slope and the ridge above the landslide. I had once thought there was a creek that flowed down here and that was associated with the slide activity. But after studying the hill shade map as well as setting foot up here, I realized this looks very much like the "sag pond" depressions along the north side of Stevens Creek that the Canyon Trail follows:

Pg. 22 mentions a landslide associated with the 1906 earthquake and this is ground zero for that slide. In fact, the report mentions that slide extended for 1/2 mile, nearly a kilometer, along the canyon.
