If you are hunting turkey in mountainous terrain, remember the relationship between turkeys, trees, and topos. Turkeys find it easier to fly off of steep ridges into the tops of trees because the angle is less. When you look at your topo map, find contour lines that are wide and then get tight. These typically will indicate a bench, which is a good location for birds to roost!
