When Comparing a Teaching to the Bible

When comparing a teaching to the Bible, here's something you might find useful. Don't study to disprove the teaching. In which case, you are actually studying to disbelieve, or enter into doubt. On other hand, don't try to prove it either. In which case, you might overlook correction, and lose clarity. And you might even enter into error. But rather, study to see if it be so. Allow Holy Spirit to bring the truth forward to you, even if it happens to challenge your belief system. And of course, this all requires humility.
