Philippians 2:5-7

Jesus became human that we might, through Him, gain divinity. Our God humbled and emptied Himself so much that He willingly submitted to the worst possible death, after becoming a poor Jew from Nazareth, touched with stigma from birth. He is God, He has never ceased to be God, yet He did not choose to make much of that reality. That is the core of kenosis. That is self-negating humility. If there is anyone in the history of the world who had the right to make much of themselves, it would have been Him, but He loved the Father, and us, so much that He laid it all aside in submission to the Father's rescue plan.
