Before Stormzy would become a standout in the UK grime music scene thank to tracks like “Know Me From”, “Big For Your Boots ” and “Vossi Bop”. Before Stormzy would headline the iconic British music festival at Glastonbury and put on a show-stopping performance even after his equipment bottomed out and he couldn’t hear what was happening. Before Stormzy would have nearly 2 Million subscribers on YouTube and recently shut down both his Instagram and Twitter accounts for reasons that are currently unknown. Stormzy is one of Britain’s most successful musicians in recent memory. He’s also the ambassador for “grime”, a genre of music that emerged out of the multicultural streets of London in the early 2000s, which is often characterized for its intense, frenetic energy. Stormzy own rise to fame has happened nearly as quickly. Over the past handful of years, he’s racked up a bunch of awards, a number one album, and he became the first black solo-artist to ever headline Glastonbury. In his youth, Stormzy was a man who came from next to nothing, dealing with the street life, and people constantly doubting what he was capable of accomplishing all because he was a black man in the UK.
