The hat is finally about to fall, as Bobby Shmurda is finally free. The American, rapper, songwriter was arrested on December 18, 2014, New York City Police arrested Shmurda. But after spending his time and holding it down for his homies, the superstar is ready to return to the spotlight and do it right this time.

When Bobby dropped N in 2014, the world stopped and then they hit the shmurda dance. Seriously, you couldn't survive a day in 2014 without hearing Bobby's song on the street, in the store, and of course at the club. To this day, if that song rings out at a party, that is going UP which is almost unheard of considering how quickly we get music these days. As a result, for the past 6 years, NY has had the top summer bop and it all began with Bobby. Milly Rock, Oooh, Big Drip and even Bodak Yellow have all followed in the same vain.

But it obviously hasn't been all good news. The notorious Hip Hop police had been watching all along and collecting evidence for what would eventually be one of the most impactful arrests in the hip hop community. He turned down a plea deal of 5 years behind bars in order for Rowdy Rebel, one of his best friends and collaborators to receive a shortened sentence, which would in turn see them released in the same year. Even in jail, an absolute legend. 

Bobby's mother says he plans on keeping it lowkey and focusing on the music. He's also got to get adjusted to this new reality we've been forced to accept but I'm sure he'll be just fine considering he's quarantined from the world for the past 7 years.
