SAYING HELLO TO A NEW DAY

The sunshine warms up a fresh morning sky,
as light of the moon wishes us goodbye.
The world continues to turn in a spin,
greeting each day with a contagious grin.

Morning’s arrival heralds a new day,
as nighttime says farewell and slips away.
Resting birds awake and begin to fly,
while moonbeams depart with a tired sigh.

Flowers burst open in copious bloom.
Butterfly emerges from silk cocoon.
Hungry animals hunt down needed prey.
Insects rush along in a busy way.

Old and young alike must rise from their bed,
as "Good Morning" is repeatedly said.
Clothes are selected and readied to wear-
some well planned, others chosen without care.

Welcomed coffee is brewed for us to drink.
We sleepy heads need a clear head to think.
Eggs and bacon are served up on a plate.
Diners eat in a flash not to be late.

Children go outside to play and have fun,
Enjoying warmth from the shining day sun-
Laughing, shouting and showing a big smile,
while dreaming, beaming, scheming to beguile.

Let us say "Hello" to each bright new day,
and choose to enjoy it - let come what may.
Have purpose in your heart to enjoy all,
in light of day for darkness will soon fall!

This is the day that the Lord has made.
Let us rejoice and be glad in it!
