Compass Cove - Indigo Tower and Resort Review - Myrtle Beach , South Carolina

I go to Myrtle Beach for a couple days about every 2 to 3 years since I now live in Las Vegas , Nevada . I remember as a kid growing up in South Carolina , going to Myrtle Beach to see all the attractions , The Pavilion , Ripley's Believe It Or Not , The Boardwalk , The Arcades , The Food , The Girls , and Cruizin' the Boulevard when I was a teenager . My family used to rent a beach house in Cherry Grove right on the beach . Now they are mostly gone to large condos or huge beach mansions .

Since I only go for a couple days I try different hotels and resorts to try and find a good one and I like variety . Unfortunately a lot of the old hotels are just that old . They need remodeling , maintenance , and a good cleaning . It is a shame how some places don't seem to care about the cleanliness of the rooms they are renting . This has to be one of the worst experiences I have had in Myrtle Beach , South Carolina .

I couldn't even change my room because they said they were full ! This was in October of 2021 , which October is usually the Off Season . The resort was busy , but I highly doubt it was full . I just think they didn't want to move me to a better room for the price that I got online . I was actually looking to buy one of the condos to use as a rental for extra income , but after my experience here I decided not to of course . I did find a place I liked much better and stayed there one night . I still haven't bought one yet , waiting for the market to drop .

Anyway , I see that this is a popular place for families and lots and lots of pools and such . I think if I would have stayed in one of the other buildings it would have been much better . I have seen many of them online and they look better than the Indigo Tower I stayed in which used to be the Indigo Inn till they bought it and added to their resort . Pinnacle Tower seems to be their nicest from what I see online . They have like 2 others . It is a huge resort .

Compass Cove Indigo Tower is not very nice . It is a little closer to the ocean and it has its own parking lot which is nice . I had a great view from my balcony , but the room wreaked of bleach , sand everywhere to include the television , bed was damp and smelled of bleach , etc . Even ruined a new shirt I wore for the first time and it was black and I got bleach on it and it put white streaks in it . They did take the price of the shirt off my bill . They also sent someone in to replace the TV since it wouldn't turn on . I think someone left the balcony door open and the room got soaked from a storm and sand blew in and they attempted to clean with a bleach soaked rag .
