Pence won’t challenge all aspects of special counsel subpoena

Mike Pence, the former Vice President, suggested that he is not contesting all parts of the subpoena that was issued by special counsel Jack Smith last month, regarding the investigation into the unsuccessful effort by former President Donald Trump and his associates to overturn the 2020 election.

ABC “This Week” co-anchor Jonathan Karl questioned Pence about his claim that he is protected by the “speech and debate clause,” which provides immunity to congressional officials from giving testimony related to their official duties.

Karl asked if Pence was objecting to all areas of the subpoena during their interview, ABC News reported. “We’re not asserting executive privilege, which may encompass other discussions,” Pence told Karl in a sit-down for “This Week.”
