In our study, we see that the Nation of Israel (Kingdom of Judah, if our judgment of the time of the writing is correct) is calling God's wrath down on itself. Prosperity leads to apostasy and there is a "joy" when first turning to sin much of the time. But that will end in a failed economy and total collapse/destruction.
