THEORY - Fanservice, DOA and the FGC

EVO champion, Perfect Legend has come out and stated that popular gaming series Dead or Alive needs to drop the fanservice and focus on the fighting game aspect in order to be a better game. Given that the last two failed games in the series suffered from this particular problem is this really a good idea?
