Why Ask For Reviews?
When someone calls me and says, oh, I found you by searching web designers in Vancouver, I always say, well, why did you call me? Because I know there are five or six of us listed here.
We're all equal, really we are, as far as what we produce. We're all roughly in the same price range, all of that. Inevitably they say, I saw your reviews online and I decided to call you. So that tells me that they put in the name of the business and reviews, which is this search right here. My business name and the word reviews. I challenge you guys to do this for your business, for your own edification. I also challenge you to do this same search for your competitors and see what shows up for them. You want this to be dominated by you however you're going to do that. You'll see on the side, this is maps, and this is why I'm number one in maps.
I have 54 Google reviews. My competitors have like 20 to 30. So your goal is to be the highest of your competitors for reviews. Whatever number that is, I can't tell you what that magic number is for you. I'm constantly asking clients to give me a review on Google, and this is why it really matters.
We look over here, Bark.com. Free account that you can get a profile on. This one actually pulls in my Google reviews. These are the same reviews.
I'm sure you could leave a review here, but why? They're just pulling in your Google reviews.
They allow me to add some videos and some pictures. Free account. Let's go back here. I'll give you a second, Nelly. Say that name again. Bark. BARK. Yelp, we all know about Yelp. These are different pages on my website that show up. Whirlocal.com. This is a website that lists local businesses. Again, free. I don't pay for it. And it lets me put my blog posts on there as well. Which is most likely why it's showing up, oh, and it pulls in my Google reviews. So it's here when someone's looking for reviews. Facebook, and it's the review page of Facebook, two review videos I have on YouTube. And these are always different. I've got probably twenty review videos on YouTube and they pull different ones. There's an ad. Keep going with more ads, and more videos. This video, interestingly enough,
is the very first review video I put up on YouTube. And it was done back in May 2014. Wow. And it is still showing when somebody searches.
I can't tell you why, but it does. Birdeye.com is another free place on the Internet.
Appsumo, that's more than's nothing. That's not me. And now we're getting down into things aren't me. So before the infinite scroll, pretty much everything on this page was me if someone did this search. And that's what you want.
