Emergency Action Plan Kit for Daycares/Preschools

1. Basic First Aid Kit - A well- stocked first aid kit is a handy thing to have.
2. Basic Bleeding Control Kit - This kit contains equipment designed to control excessive bleeding caused by gunshot wounds, crushing, or stabbing.
3. Flashlight - LED flashlight with a minimum 500-Lumen, powered by lithium batteries.
4. Emergency Radio - Simple, easy to program weather alert AM/FM radio with alarm and battery back-up power. The radio is designed to provide information about pending severe weather and other emergencies.
5. Batteries - Additional batteries to power the emergency radio, flashlights, etc.
6. Three-Day Supply of Fresh Water and Food - Storing enough bottled water, canned meat and vegetables, granola bars, cereal and dried fruits for three days is suggested.
7. Garbage Bags, Toilet Paper, Wipes and Diapers - There’s never enough of this, especially during an unexpected event that may confine you, your staff and your children to your facility for more than 24 hours.
8. Prescription Medications - Having a three- day supply of medications is smart.
