Thompson SMG is weirdly a beloved iconic firearm and yet at the same time It's one of the only guns created in that time period to be completely discontinued by the US army. Think about it, the M1911 pistol is still in use, M2 browning still going strong, heck even the M1 Garand lives on in the form of the high tech polymer M14 - why didn’t the Thompson get a glow up makeover too?
