Human Rights Violations: The Plight of Journalists in India

The intimidation of journalists is a threat to democracy. Questioning Modi or his party members is becoming crime in India. Journalist Sanjay Rana was physically assaulted and journalist Irfan Mehraj was arrested and charged with terrorism. If the journalist is Muslim, charges are often severe. Such biased treatment undermines democracy. Human rights violations against Indian journalists demand immediate international action, especially from the Muslim world in solidarity with Indian Muslims. Their rights must be respected and protected.
