What did ancient people think of the belly button?

Why do some ancient statues and figurines emphasize the navel area? Is it a fertility thing? Or something to do with celebrating life and existence? Or is that not the point of these ancient statues and figurines? In this video, I show some examples of statues and figurines that appear to accentuate the navel area.
