Thomas Tuchel insisted on Saturday that Bayern Munich currently have one of the best squads in Europe, as the 49-year-old faced the media for the first time since taking on the head coach role at Allianz Arena.

Julian Nagelsmann was sacked by Bayern on Friday, and the club moved quickly to secure the services of former PSG and Borussia Dortmund boss Tuchel, who parted ways with previous club Chelsea last September.

Tuchel takes over a Bayern side that currently sit one point behind German Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund and are in the last eight of the Champions League, although 'The Bavarians' had lost two of their last five Bundesliga games under Nagelsmann.
