The Problem with Banning and Canceling Everyone We Disagree With

We cannot fix society or make things better if we just ban all the people with bad thoughts. These people need to be around others that have kind, rational influences. When we push them away from the opportunities to engage with us, they begin engaging with other bad influences. This makes society worse, not better. We need to start being brave enough to engage these people with kindness and education, not name calling, banning, and canceling them. Banning them removes a ton of opportunity to educate and to fix messaging and negative influences. It's dangerous for society to push these fringe people further into the fringe. Ye is now hanging around with people like Nick Fuentes and Milo because of his cancel. He looked for fellow "banned" people to unite with. We pushed him towards people who are arguably more fringe than he was. This is not how we solve societies problems... this is how we make them worse. Free Speech is the solution to this. This is one reason why Free Speech is so important. We can engage in ideas and have the opportunity to correct our thinking and understanding. When we cancel people they hang around other canceled people with like minds and that just causes a heap more fringe people in our society.
