Member of Parliament for Red Deer—Lacombe, @blainecalkinsmp107 , gave a passionate and thorough explanation for the many reasons lawful Canadians own firearms, including semi-automatic long guns and handguns, in response to the federal governments continued push for more gun regulation and added prohibitions.

Before becoming the Deputy Shadow Minister for Parks and Conservation, Mr. Calkins served as a Conservation Officer in Alberta and a National Park Warden for Parks Canada (1995) on the north boundary of Jasper National Park. He's also an avid hunter.
