Prince of the Air is the second track to hit the airwaves from the I Pray You collection, a saga about a post-apocalyptic hellscape, where a single character is left in the shadow of planetary waste. This particular song is about the trauma of oppression, and the nature of what it means to be renderred at the mercy of tyrannical power, a motif woven throughout the series.
The song gets it's title from the second chapter and the second verse of St. Paul's epistle to the Ephesians, which says,

"[Eph 2:2 KJV] 2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:"
