Can AI Programs Be Trusted To Report The News?
As local news organizations shrink or disappear, journalists are turning to artificial intelligence to help fill the gap. Can AI, which cannot distinguish between fact and fiction, be trusted? Editors remain cautious about the use of AI in reporting. But used responsibly, they say, it can provide a cost-effective toolkit to ease the load on local journalists.
